Well I've heard there was a secret chord
David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya ?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Well your fatih was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Oh baby I have been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do you
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Well maybe there is a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry you that hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelu
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

January 6th, 2009 at 19:34:07 good shout she would have won if it wasnt for her throat thing, she had top votes the week before the one she missed, this is my favourite version of the song alexandra is too like leona when singing this but am looking foward to see what else she can give us

January 6th, 2009 at 21:29:02 This version is my favourite out of the people who have sung their own version of it. Jeff Buckley is definately the best thoughh, ;]
January 6th, 2009 at 21:52:01 its my favourite version from this hallelujah. she has a very great voice and feeling in the song.

January 6th, 2009 at 23:00:58 I love this song. she has got a great voice! this song is always sang by men and it sounds so different, when a woman sings it. very beautiful!!
January 6th, 2009 at 23:23:57 X-factor version was ok, but to be honest, i think that this version is the best of all of them..i'm not crazy about the jeff buckley version, but it's okay too
January 7th, 2009 at 23:46:56 I like this version because she doesn't get caught up in her own voice....it's nicer when its kept simple. Same goes for Buckley's version, just him and his guitar. The problem with the X-factor version is that its full of pomp and cheese and just isn't believable. Would have loved for Diana Vickers to get a studio recording of this song, I think it would have been excellent.
January 7th, 2009 at 00:09:55 i personally really like Imogen Heap's version of this song better
